Certified quality
GACP — the foundation of pharmaceutical-grade medical cannabis
Good Agricultural and Collection Practices. The international standard that connects cultivation to medicine.
At Hybrida Farms Costa Rica, quality isn't just a promise — it's certified. We are proud to operate under GACP certification, an internationally recognized standard that guarantees our cultivation and handling meet the highest levels of safety, sustainability and consistency.
What GACP certification means
GACP certification ensures that every step of our agricultural process — from soil preparation and seed selection to harvest, drying and storage — follows strict global standards. This certification validates that our crops are:

Safe and pure
Cultivated without harmful contaminants and handled with rigorous quality control.
Consistent and reliable
Every harvest maintains the same potency and quality — critical for nutraceutical and pharmaceutical applications.
Sustainable and ethical
Our farming practices protect the environment and support local communities in Costa Rica.
Globally compliant
Certification grants direct access to international markets that demand traceability and transparency.
Why it matters
GACP is the gateway to the global medical cannabis market
Without GACP, cannabis cannot become medicine. Certification is the bridge between agriculture and the regulated pharmaceutical supply chain.
Patient safety first
Medical cannabis patients are often immunocompromised, pediatric or chronically ill.
Recognized by EMA, WHO and Ph. Eur.
GACP is the standard referenced by the European Medicines Agency, the World Health Organization and the European Pharmacopoeia for medicinal plant starting materials — cannabis included.
Market access to the EU, UK and Australia
Without a valid GACP certificate, pharmaceutical importers in Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, Australia, Israel and Switzerland cannot receive dried flower as an API. It is a customs and licensing requirement, not a commercial preference.
Enables the transition to EU-GMP
GACP covers cultivation and harvest; EU-GMP covers downstream processing. Without GACP upstream, there is no GMP downstream. It is the first mandatory link in every pharmaceutical cannabis supply chain.
Batch-by-batch traceability
Every batch is documented from mother plant to export container, with cannabinoid, terpene and contaminant analysis — the foundation of pharmacovigilance and responsible recalls.
Trust from prescribers and regulators
Clinicians prescribe with confidence only when plant material is reproducible and safe. GACP is that documented guarantee.
The compliance chain
From field to pharmacy: how GACP fits in
GACP is the first of five compliance links that separate recreational cannabis from prescribed medicine.
